Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is Give-Education? What is the goal?

We came up with “Give-Education” as a way to support the great work of K-12 education. Alumni Nations works with schools and districts in every corner of the United States.  We are encouraging K-12 alumni and their communities to come together virtually this year to help raise funds to set their schools up for success in the upcoming years.  This is the only national event of its kind and we are excited to engage all communities to support the K-12 education system.

  • How does it work?

On Thursday, March 4th, 2027, Alumni Nations will host a 24-hour giving event encouraging charitable donations through our online giving platform give-education.com.

Alumni Nations will provide toolkits, training sessions, outreach support, mass media and social media coverage to make it easy for all nonprofits to participate. Each participating organization will have an individualized web page to promote their cause. This web page can also be used for year-round online fundraising.

Individuals will be able to donate money to the nonprofit organizations of their choice beginning on February 4th, 2027 with the main event day on March 4th, 2027. All donations are tax deductible and irrevocable (donations will not be refunded). Donors will receive a receipt for their gift. The nonprofit will receive contact information for each donor.

  • Who is behind it?

Alumni Nations is the leader in K-12 alumni engagement. Alumni Nations is a trusted partner of K-12 schools, districts, and education foundations with the goal to help energize and engage alumni and the greater community, positioning schools as the foundation of strong neighborhoods, work forces and communities.

  • When individuals donate to Give-Education, who will receive their information?
Alumni Nations and the National Association of Education Foundations (NAEF) will receive donor information so they can provide Give-Education Day updates, news, and information about related activities and opportunities. They will not sell, rent, or share your personal information with outside organizations.
  • Is there a minimum or maximum donation?

The minimum donation for Give-Education is $10. There is no maximum donation limit.

  • Who is able to participate?

All education-focused nonprofits with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status or a school with a NCES code are eligible to participate in Give-Education.

  • How do I find and share my organization page link?

Visit our Give-Education Day platform (https://www.give-education.com/) and click on My Fundraiser.  When you click on your organization, you will see a share option to copy a direct link to your fundraiser so you can paste this direct link in your main website and all social media channels.

You can also click in the "Invite" icon to send an invitation.  Send to yourself and then forward to all your contacts.

During the Give-Education event, please make sure to share your Give-Education page direct URL so all donations get counted towards the Give-Education overall goal.

Some Give-Education organizations participate in multiple giving events during the year and may be familiar with using other platform page URLs. Please be sure to double check that all your links in your social media posts, newsletters, emails and anywhere else are updated with your 2027 Give-Education page link.

Please be sure to remind any of your campaigning peer-to-peer (P2P) supporters to also use your Give-Education direct URL and the "Invite" button to share with others.

  • How can an organization receive donations?

If you are already listed on give-education.com, you don't need to do anything except make sure your nonprofit's profile and page is updated and motivating. If your nonprofit is not listed on give-education.com when you do a search, please make sure you register to be included.

  • What forms of payment are accepted?

Online donations can be made via credit card, debit card and bank account (ACH).

Donors will have the option of submitting payment through their bank account. This could save the donor and/or the benefiting organization on transaction fees.

For donors that give via credit card, an optional 3% transaction fee can be included to help cover a portion of the processing fee.

Donors also have the option to send a check to your organization, although recommended to use an eCheck/ACH for immediate reflection.  Nonetheless, if physical checks are received, contact Alumni Nations so it is included in your overall organization fundraising totals and the giving event.

  • When will my organization receive the funds contributed?

Electronic dispersals happen twice per month on a consistent schedule.

Drawing winners will receive prize money separately from disbursements.

  • How will an organization know who has donated to them?

Organizations that have registered on Give-education.com will receive an email notification for every donation in real-time.

In addition, they can track donations by visiting their fundraiser in the Give-Education site.

There is also a donors leaderboard displaying who gave.

Registered organizations can download a donations report at any time by loging into the Give-Education site, clicking on "My Fundraiser" and exporting donors in an .XLS file.

  • Do I need to issue a tax receipt to my donors?

No, donors will automatically receive a receipt for every donation made. However, we do encourage designated charities to send a thank you note to their donors letting them know how awesome they are!

  • Why is there a Program Registration Fee?
The Program Registration Fee helps fund the year-round resources and support that make Give Education Day possible. It includes access to your campaign page, training webinars, fundraising and marketing resources, technical support, and ongoing guidance from our team before and throughout the campaign.
