The Farmington/Farmington Hills Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.   Our mission is to “foster investment in innovative educational opportunities to benefit the students of Farmington Public Schools.”

Since our inception in 2012, the Foundation has awarded more than $400,500 in innovation grants to teachers,  community organizations, students and staff throughout the district.

Farmington/Farmington Hills Education Foundation Mission of Fostering investment in innovative educational opportunities to benefit the students of Farmington Public Schools through: Opportunities for learners of all levels to use TECHNOLOGY. SCHOLASTIC ACHIEVEMENT supporting the continuing growth of academic choices and resources. THE ARTS providing experiences and programs to enhance fine and performing arts. EXTRACURRICULAR ENRICHMENT provides learning opportunities beyond the classroom.

The Foundation’s focus is on encouraging excellence through creative teaching, facilitating student development and promoting community/school partnerships. We want to provide inventive and creative educational opportunities for teaching and learning not covered by normal school budgets. Our board has targeted these four areas of focus for funding.  Just this past week, we granted almost $20,000 in grants in academic, music, special education playground equipment, field trips to the higher education locations for exploration to see if students might see a fit for themselves in a setting there,  an Engineering Club, a Diversity Day, a Ping Pong Club, a Memorial Garden, early childhood education supplies, Gardening club support and many more!

We also serve as a facilitator for numerous scholarships offered to graduating seniors attending further education at all levels: Universities, Community Colleges and Trade Schools. We coordinate the awards of over 25 different scholarships that are offered by various community members and organizations or through donations to specific, named scholarships.

Additionally, we manage several designated funds for school related organizations that need a "home" for their finances. The largest 2 and most active of these funds is for the very successful "Hackbots" robotics team as well as the North Farmington ROPA Theatre Program Program.
